Gencon Practices and Policies

Boxes of Gencon Oranges ready to ship

Here is everything you need to know about Gencon practices and policies. We ask that you please read before calling, as this page may answer your shipping questions.

When choosing a shipping method, please note: All FedEx Shipping Times (including FedEx One Rate) are APPROXIMATE and can vary by address. Holidays may also affect shipping and transit times. Picking and shipping times can be affected by both weather at the farm and weather at the delivery address.

If you have a time sensitive order that has to arrive by a particular date, please call us at +1 (888) 991-2915 (M-F 9am-5pm Pacific Time) to make sure we can accommodate your order.

PLEASE NOTE: if no shipping charges were added at the time you placed your order on products that require shipping, there may have been an issue with the FedEx or UPS real time shipping calculator. If this occurs, shipping charges WILL BE ADDED to your order PRIOR to shipping.

  • ALL ORDERS ARE PLACED ON HOLD until your order has been completely shipped from our location.
  • If your order is still on HOLD and you already have a FedEx tracking number, one of the items ordered still has not been shipped. The status will be taken off HOLD as soon as all items have shipped.
  • Unless otherwise specified, packages are shipped via FedEx Ground for most destinations in the United States, except Alaska and Hawaii. For AK and HI, the source says you must choose at minimum FedEx 2nd Day Air.
  • Please check your Shipping Address information. The supplied policy says incorrect addresses, apartment numbers, suite numbers, street names, ZIP codes or names entered on the order page are not the company's responsibility.
  • FedEx/UPS will not ship to a P.O. Box; a physical address is needed.
  • Ordering more than one box of citrus on an individual order may result in additional shipping charges.
  • Shipping charges are automatically calculated at checkout based on total package weight and the ship-to ZIP code. Call for arrangements if an order exceeds 100 pounds.
  • The day an order ships is not considered a shipping or transit day. The source gives the example that a Tuesday package taking three shipping days would arrive Friday.
  • All services are tracked. FedEx online tracking services can be used to monitor a shipment.
  • When an order ships, the FedEx tracking number is sent via e-mail.
  • Fresh fruit orders are shipped 5 days a week (M-F) depending on receiving location and current weather conditions. The source says it may be necessary to wait up to 5 business days, not including weekends.
  • Bad weather, holidays and weekends can require a different shipping date. If the date changes, the source says customers will be notified via e-mail.
  • During winter, someone should be available to receive fresh fruit in cold areas. The source warns that temperatures below 32°F can cause damage to fresh fruit left outside for a few hours.
  • The supplied policy says Gencon Consulting is not responsible for lost or stolen packages after they leave the facility and recommends tracking packages and arranging for someone to receive them.
  • Orders are not shipped on weekends. Orders received after 12:00 PM Pacific Time on Fridays generally are not shipped earlier than the following Monday.
  • The source states that fresh citrus can be shipped anywhere in the U.S., including Texas, Louisiana and Arizona.
  • Biodegradable packing peanuts, when included, are made of corn starch and dissolve in water.
  • For special delivery or ordering needs, customers are asked to call.
  • Seeds may occur naturally in citrus fruit and are not considered a defect under the supplied policy.

FINALLY… if this page didn't answer your shipping questions to your satisfaction, please call for more details.
